Growing up, I was never that interested in politics. I used to think they were boring and for people with nothing interesting in their lives to worry about. But one day I heard a joke which built some intrigue inside me.. A politician is just like a pickpocket; it’s almost impossible to get him to reform.
I wondered what was meant by that and started to question my friends and family about politicians that they supported and those they thought were of questionable. Within a few weeks I knew everything there was to know about our local politicians and had a good overview of politics in general. How had I glossed over this topic for so many years? These people literally shape our nation!
I setup this blog to share my passion and to try influence other young people to get involved in politics. You don’t have to go to rallies and spend hours reading into every issue a politician is pushing for, but you should have an idea about what’s going on in your local area and how to reach out and effect local decisions which will ultimately affect you and your family.
